Music Ministry Leadership at Corpus Christi Church

Sharon M. Hershey OCDS, Music Director

Colorado Springs Catholic Parish

Sharon Marion Hershey grew up in central Ohio and received her professional training at the University of Michigan, Tanglewood Music Center, Aspen Music School, and the University of Pennsylvania, where she earned her Ph.D. in Music Composition in 1992.  Her chamber, choral, and orchestral compositions have been performed across the United States and Europe by such groups as the Dutch Radio Symphony Orchestra, the Arditti Quartet, and the Festival Spoleto Chorus.  After five years as an Assistant Professor of Music Theory and Composition, Hershey answered the call to serve the Church and has since been an active pastoral musician first in the Philadelphia area and now in Colorado Springs.  Though her church music compositions have been published and recorded, it is her true heart to love God and people. She has greatly enjoyed serving the Corpus Christi Parish under Fr. Mark’s leadership since 2008.
